What are the internship program academic requirements? As an F-1 student, do I need CPT authorization for an internship outside of the U.S.? Help! I have problems with my internship experience. My company wants me to pay for training. What should I do? How many hours can I work?

Can I report an internship in my first semester at UT Dallas?

No, you must have completed at least one semester at UT Dallas to have a GPA, which is a requirement. In addition you must meet the required credit hours:


Undergrads 

  • Must have completed at least 24 credit hours​
  • In addition, transfer students must have completed at least 6 credit hours at UTDallas

Graduate students

  • Must have completed at least 12 credit hours in their current masters course

International students must be eligible for CPT (F-1 students complete 2 consecutive long semesters in a US university prior to the internship)
