How do I prepare for an interview?

There is a lot you can do on your own to prepare, but practice is key, and start early.   Interviews are likely to be virtual.

Start by reviewing the guides on interview strategies at https://jindal.utdallas.edu/career-management-center/student-resources/#04-interview-strategies

Next prepare STAR answers to more common questions, and practice your stories until they flow.

Read the job description for the role, and research the company.  What skills are they looking for? What questions might be asked?

Based on the role, prepare your answer to "Tell me about yourself" and include the skills you offer that the employer is looking for, as well as your enthusiasm for this field/type of work.

Complete a practice video interview using InterviewStream  https://jindal.utdallas.edu/career-management-center/student-resources/#06-research-employers  Review the feedback, and practice again.

Request an appointment on Handshake to complete a mock interview to further target and refine your answers
