Should I accept the internship offer before I request approval?

Yes, please request approval after you have accepted the offer. However, before you accept the offer know that you are making a commitment to that employer, and must stop considering other offers for the same internship semester. If you are holding other offers, respectfully inform those employers that you are accepting another position and declining theirs.
Checklist:
- the work is aligned with your degree program, and at the level appropriate for the degree (undergrad or masters)
- you will be supervised, and it is primarily a learning experience where you will apply what you have learned in class
- you are excited about the opportunity, and feel good about the team you will work with
- you will be in an office or other professional environment. (Due to COVID-19 workplace restrictions, exceptions will be considered for remote working)
